A Vacuum to End All Vacuuming
Hate housework like I do? Since my son has started crawling (and putting everything in his mouth), the vacuum has become both my daily companion and my nemesis. Even with hardwood floors, my rugs started appearing dirtier than they ever had, as I looked at them through the eyes of a curious baby. Every piece of lint, strand of cat hair and crumb glare out at me from the floor. Then I discovered Roomba, the robotic vacuum cleaner. Roomba cleans better than I ever did, swiftly moving under furniture and criss-crossing the hardwood floors and rugs with ease. It put my old bagless upright vacuum cleaner to shame with the amount of dirt and pet hair it picked up. And best of all, it did this all while I was at work!
BestBuy.com has the iRobot Roomba 530 for $269.99, the exact model I have with the docking station and two virtual walls included. They are pricey, but when you consider the cost of a Dyson, supposedly the holy grail of vacuums, it seems downright reasonable in comparison. Especially when you consider the fatal flaw of the Dyson is the same as that of all other vacuums – you still have to push it.
Call me a visionary or call me lazy but one thing’s for certain, I will never push another vacuum again.
