Deal of the Week – TV Streamer for $60

Slingbox may be the only name you know in this category, but there are others out there.  Woot has the Monsoon HAVA Platinum HDTV Streamer today for $59.99 + shipping.  Haven’t heard of a TV streamer?  It’s basically a gadget that you hook up to your TV and to your computer (via wifi, if you like) and you are able to stream both live TV and recorded DVR programming to any web-connected device – a computer somewhere else in the world, your phone, etc.  Here’s a link to a CNET article detailing the Monsoon HAVA Gold, this product’s lesser sibling.

I could see this being useful in many ways – if you travel a lot, it’s like having your DVR in your pocket.  Keep the kiddos entertained (and quiet) by letting them watch their favorite cartoon on your iPhone.  Use your laptop to watch Grey’s Anatomy outside on your patio.  And the list goes on….

Slingbox can run anywhere from $150 to $400, depending on the model you get – so this one may be well worth a shot.
