UV Sanitizers to Protect Your Family from Germs

In light of all of the recent news about swine flu, we’ve all been paying closer attention to minimizing the spread of germs.  That’s why I was intrigued by this Verilux CleanWave UV-C Sanitizing Wand from Buy.com.  It disinfects and eliminates invisible viruses, germs, dust mites, allergens, mold and odors from both soft fabrics and hard surfaces.  This set comes with a home sanitizing wand and a smaller travel version. (hotel mattresses anyone?)

This could be extremely useful for de-germifying (that’s my technical term) our son’s toys, which we’ve been relying on our dishwasher and washing machine to do.  That works well enough, but I’m all about tech gadgets for a simpler way!  Does anyone own this?  Love it or waste of money?
